DREAM THEATER in Space
Or something like that. With a bunch of dudes wearing red robes and masks. That’s basically what the DT video for their new song “A Rite of Passage” depicts. The song comes off their upcoming album, “Black Coulds & Silver Linings” which I believe is their second one on Roadrunner Records.
The song sucks pretty bad, but the video is cool. John Petrucci is still rocking the steroid look and it seems at times he’s about to break his guitar in half. Rudess is barely in the video, so much that I thought they had kicked him out because I rarely heard any keyboard parts. It’s nice to see that such a (once) great band gets the all-star music video treatment, pity it’s for such a lame song.
Video Interview with Frost
Legendary drummer Frost recently conducted an interview with Domination. He talks about fine wine, boats, global warming, and foretells of a great migration to the north.
This guy is like the Kirk Hammet of the Black Metal world.

The Berzerker covers t.A.T.u.
Another thing to add to your list of things that don’t need to exist.
Australian death metal band The Berzerker have released a video for there cover of the russian hit “All the Things She Said” by those lovely lesbians t.A.T.u.
The cover is horrible and doesn’t even get any laughs for silliness. However the video is hot, featuring two of Australia’s finest fetish models, and a couple of experimental schoolgirls.
Nine inch nails iPhone application approved by Apple
So for a while now, theres been a conflict between the nine inch nails Trent Reznor and Apple, about the new (rejected) application for the iPhone that allows you to log onto the nin.com site and access music, pictures and other stuff, but it also has a GPS wich allows you to locate other users and chat with them. The reason given by Apple is that the song “The Downward Spiral” contained explicit lyrics wich they didnt like.
But now it seems that apple has turned around and approved the application. It is available through apple app store for free

This whole deal is really retarded. simulating shaking a baby is ok, but not listening to some crappy song with horrible lyrics?
on another note, I apologize for messing up the previous post. The application i was referring to before was tap tap 2. This game is a guitar hero ripoff for the iPhone, (featuring NIN songs).
Alexi Laiho Fell Out of Bed
A few days back Children of Bodom frontman, Alexi Laiho, fell out of bed on the tour bus.
He broke his shoulder and has internal bleeding, he says he can finish out the tour however he won’t be able to “move around or sing with my full power”
I guess it’s good I saw them before this happened, otherwise it would have been even MORE boring.

Become a Star with Van Canto’s A Cappella Metal Workshop
Van Canto’s official youtube account has recently been playing host to a series of workshop videos covering the creation of a Van Canto song.
Hosted by Lower “Rakkatakka” Vocalist, Stefan Schmidt, the videos offer some interesting insight into their recording techniques as well as their thoughts on the varying degrees of acceptance by the masses.
I was glad to see that, while they do take the band seriously, they are well aware that what they’re doing can be seen as very humorous and is a joy to make fun of. Overall it was a very interesting watch, I’ll leave you with the first installment.
