Behemoth – Banned from MTV

In another move showing that they hate absolutely everything that’s awesome, Behemoths new video for the song “Ov Fire and the Void” has been officially banned by MTV.

I think the video is actually pretty damn nice, the ratios of tits to vaginal bleeding to actual shots of the band are spot on.

Behemoth is currently working on another version of the video where all the tits will be covered up with giant penises. MTV is looking forward to evaluating that one… all night long. Hey oh.

Chicks in my Folk

Everytime I listen to Arkona’s vocalist do her growling thing it inevitably reminds me of either that fugly chick from Arch Enemy trying to sound evil or Alexi Laiho trying to sound evil. Nevertheless, they have posted an 8 minute long “trailer” video for their upcoming album “Goi, Rode, Goi!”, whatever the fuck that means.

I like 1 song from all of Arkona’s repertoire, and even though Masha “Scream” Arhipova’s growling is pretty good for a chick, it always ends up sounding funny to me. But this video is a fun watch, and the songs don’t sound that bad. Check it out.

Megadeth’s Headcrusher

Dave Mustaine took a break from going to church all day to record this lame-ass video for the single of Megadeth’s upcoming “Endgame” album. That chick in the end is hot though. Kinda like, rough hot.

Finntroll signs with Century Media

IN YOUR FACE NUCLEAR BLAST!! IN YOUR FACE!!
Finntroll

FINNTROLL, Century Media Records and King Foo Entertainment announce the signing of a worldwide deal to unleash the next three FINNTROLL albums.

FINNTROLL adds: “Yeah, that’s right peeps. We’re most enthusiastic to announce our signing with Century Media Records. We decided to continue our long co-op with CM, thanks to Jens ‘very special’ Prueter and Mr. Rosie of King Foo. FINNTROLL felt it’s time to work directly with CM this time as we have all the trust with them and they have never let us down in the past. Our new album will be released worldwide through CM in early 2010, and with that said we’re gonna do some heavy touring, that’s gonna start in February in Europe and after that we’re gonna sail across the ocean to North America. See ya on the road

NIN finaly giving up

As some of you know, Nine Inch nails is doing the farewell tour wich will end in los angeles. And for me, thats good news. I have his first album Pretty Hate Machine, and i think its pretty cool. But now, every dude and their mother seem to be fucking jacking of to them. I usually dont hate a band because many people listen to them, but half the NIN fanbase is probably kids who think they are so awesome, cool and goth because they listen to nine inch nails, paradise lost and candlemass, wear black cloths they got from the supermarkets cloth department and wear a bit too much makeup. This pisses me off. So now atleast i dont have to see some big headlines with about “trent reznor getting into a new dispute”. And hopefully I also wont hear anymore retarded scenekids talking about how “cool and awesome” the new NIN album is.

A Steady Cam Is No Match For Petri Lindroos

Ensiferum just released the video for the title track on the new album “From Afar”. It’s the first song I’ve heard off the new album and it sounds pretty good.

What struck me right off the bat was the use of a full live orchestra, the brass hits at the beginning of the song are excellently done and bring a new atmosphere to Ensiferum, who were beginning to get a little stale.

The video has fairly high production values but I have no fucking idea what’s going. The chick with the dreads is cute as a button though, she looks like she’s from Whoville. The camera also shakes whenever Petri looks into it while he’s singing, I understand it’s supposed to give of a powerful vibe. But if you’ve ever seen the man in person, he’s kinda frail/anorexic looking. Check out the video below.

Tony Kakko Broke My Heart

I know a lot of people hate Sonata Arctica, and I fully understand why. They are repetitive, cheesy, emo, probably the worst band ever.

That being said, I’ve always thought Silence was a pretty great album and it still gets regular playtime from me. Unfortunately, ever since Winterheart’s Guild, I’ve been waiting for another Sonata Arctica album to come close to the quality of Silence and as usual I was excited when news about the new album “The Days of Grays” started coming out. I just about fell off of my chair when I saw they had new songs up on their MySpace page. Well, not quite.

However, they’re shit, I’ve been let down once again. I know it’s only two songs, but it’s most likely the two best songs. It’s more mid-paced drivel that, in all honesty, has plagued most of their albums. However they now seem to be content releasing ONLY mid-paced drivel. No more Wolf and Raven, Dream Thieves, 8th Commandment, nothing. If you’ve ever seen them live you’ll know that they tend to ignore that entire part of their career. And focus on the newer, anime nerd pleasing shite.

Fuck this, I’m pissed.

Big Four Tour Rumors

Kerry King made a statement regarding some rumors about getting the “Big Four” of Thrash Metal together on a tour.

I’ve heard people referencing Lars. I don’t know Lars that well and I
haven’t heard it from Lars but apparently he’s talking to somebody
about it. Maybe us, Metallica, Megadeth (and), I think he even threw in
Anthrax and I said in this day and age, I know we had that time
together but how do you leave out Machine Head? There’s better options
than Anthrax and that’s nothing against Anthrax, but they’ve just been
in pieces for quite some time and that doesn’t make as much sense to me.

The idea of this excites me even though between Metallica and Slayer it could possibly be the largest gathering of bros ever witnessed. Someone should call the guys at Guinness.

What I don’t get however is where Kerry King gets off billing Machine Head as a better replacement than Anthrax. Unless they were playing Vio-lence songs or something, it doesn’t make any sense.

If Anthrax wouldn’t work (and in all honesty, it probably wouldn’t) throw Exodus up there, they are still playing strong shows and doing a good job with the old material.

As nice as this sounds though, it will never happen because Dave Mustaine is a bitter old man and a heavy metal diva. He wouldn’t be able to hang through the whole thing without saying some stupid bullshit and pissing everyone off.

With any luck Lars really is trying to get something together and they manage to put together a decent lineup. Although the absence of Metallica would make things a lot easier on my pocketbook.
