New 4 part Immortal Interview
Roy from Imhotep talks in depth with Immortal about everything from the early days to All Shall Fall.
Even though you can’t understand what the hell he is saying half the time, Abbath still gives off that “I am the coolest guy you will ever meet” vibe.

Resubscribe
For a while now, theres been some technical problems with the Itunes feed. The problem is that the old metalscapeonline adress is shot, wich makes the feeds DNS server point to an invalid adress. Hopefully this will be fixed in the coming 2 or 3 days. But if you cannot wait or if the problem wont be fixed, you can just resubscribe and it will work fine again. Sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully it will all be back to normal soon enough.
Rain
My uncle, AKA my roommate, just sent me this via e-mail. He’s supposed to be working right now, but there’s always time for internet videos. And this one is cool as shit:
DECAPITATED come back to life
According to a bulletin on their MySpace, polish death metal sensation Decapitated have assembled a new line up and will be touring next year. If you’re unfamiliar as to why would this be important, maybe you missed on the tragic events of October 2007, when the band was involved in a traffic accident that claimed Vitek’s (drummer) life. Covan (vocals) is still not fully recovered from his injuries to this day.

Vogg (only remaining founding member, Vitek’s brother) says that it was a hard choice to make, but in the end he resolved to carry on with the band. The full line-up will be announced later this December, and there’s some tour dates on their MySpace already. Long Live Decapitated!
Also, here’s a video of their new drummer:

MetalStorm asks PETRI LINDROOS what’s up with WINTERSUN
What the fuck is going on with Jari and Wintersun? I don’t know. Zach doesn’t know. And I’m pretty damn sure Petri Lindroos doesn’t know either. But that didn’t stop MetalStorm‘s Baz Anderson from asking in this video interview with Ensiferum’s lead singer/guitarist.
The rest of the interview is boring as all shit, since apparently Petri hates talking and/or people bringing up Jari Maenpaa.
Never Stop Dreaming
I could give a shit about Guitar Hero (even though it is quite fun), but this ad is awesome:
OPETH assist in suicide

According to their official site, Opeth’s tour bus crashed into another car that made an un-expected U-Turn as the band (minus Åkerfeldt, Axenrot and Äkesson who had flown back to Sweden) was on their way to Brussels. Everyone in the bus came out unscathed, but the driver on the car died later in the hospital.
Moreover, Metalstorm says that the accident was no accident at all, since police later found a suicide note inside the car that made the U-turn. Freaky no? Mikael says he’s pretty disturbed about the whole thing. I say it’s quite appropriate; You can’t have a prog band without some sort of freaky accident/incident happening on their tours. It all ads up to the mystique.

Lifetime Opportunity!
Have you ever wanted to own a unique piece of Metalscape memorabilia? Well you’re in luck, because now you have the chance to do exactly that!

Metalscape Co-Host and barely-accomplished acoustic guitar player Ron is auctioning his one-of-a-kind Marshall AS50R Acoustic Amplifier on eBay. That’s 50 watts of Marshall’s finest amplification for non-electric guitars. This fantastic device features 2 independent channels, RCA inputs, reverb and chorus effects and a high-tech ultra-modern Anti-Feedback module. You can hear this amazing piece of equipment on such classic albums as Finntroll’s “Visor om Slutet” and Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez”!*
Bidding starts at $180 but why delay the inevitable? Buy it now for $230 plus shipping! That’s the best offer I’ve heard of since they announced free ground shipping on orders of 2 or more items from the Metalscape Store! UNBELIEVABLE!
*This statement may or not be completely false and ridiculous.
Ban them laptops
Cinema chain Cineworld in the UK now has a policy banning anyone from carrying a laptop into a theatre, even if it is not used. The management claims that this is an anti-piracy move on the advice of the Federation Against Copyright Theft, the source of all kinds of dubious anti-piracy statements. When it was pointed out that the laptop had no camera, the management made a temporary exception.
For customers, the message is clear: leave your laptop in the car. For pirates, the message is clear: there is more money to be made slinking around cinema car parks looking for laptop bags.
Mobile phone with a camera? Go right ahead. Laptop in a bag with no powersuply? Get the fuck out of here!

FINLAND: Broadband Internet is not a luxury, it is your right!

Apparently, Finland has become the first country in the world to declare broadband internet access as a basic human right, and is demanding that by July 2010 all citizens of the Power Metal country by excellence be provided with at least a 1 MB/s connection. And by 2015 that requirement will jump to 100 MB/s.
In other news, Nicaragua has no idea what the fuck the internet is.
