Everytime I listen to Arkona’s vocalist do her growling thing it inevitably reminds me of either that fugly chick from Arch Enemy trying to sound evil or Alexi Laiho trying to sound evil. Nevertheless, they have posted an 8 minute long “trailer” video for their upcoming album “Goi, Rode, Goi!”, whatever the fuck that means.

I like 1 song from all of Arkona’s repertoire, and even though Masha “Scream” Arhipova’s growling is pretty good for a chick, it always ends up sounding funny to me. But this video is a fun watch, and the songs don’t sound that bad. Check it out.

Arkona, the russian pagan metal band, is releasing their first DVD ever “Noch Velesova” starting in Finland and for some fucked up reason, Spain. Here’s the cover art:

I could give a shit about Arkona (although I do like that one song off that one album). Dunno, maybe I should listen to them some more. But you have to give props to a band whose drummer gets run over by a car and simply walks it off like nobody’s business.
