“Everything Remains as the same garbage we’ve been churning out after halfway our first album (as it never should have been)” is now streaming at Eluveitie’s Myspace. Yeah you got me, that’s not the real title of the Swiss “New Wave of Folk Metal” band’s new album, but that’s what it essentially is. Just when you thought that the by now rotting carcass of what was once the dead horse that is Eluveitie’s particular brand of “new wave” folk metal could not possibly be beaten any further, these guys prove you otherwise.

Don’t believe me? Here’s a new video for their track “Thousandfold”:

Here’s a serious question: Who is the more ridiculous band, Eluveitie or Van Canto? Is it Eluveitie because they think they can pass the crap they’re doing as “folk metal” or Van Canto, who have one drummer and 4 or 6 dudes doing guitar riffs with their voices? That’s a tough one. Thanks to forum member qqq for the heads up.

Whatever the fuck that means, it’s the title of Eluveitie’s new album, scheduled for release in Spring 2010. I thought these dudes were gonna release the follow-up to their surprisingly entertaining acoustic album thingy next, but I guess I thought wrong. Here’s some artwork and track listing action:

01. Otherworld
02. Everything Remains As It Never Was
03. Thousandfold
04. Nil
05. The Essence Of Ashes
06. Isara
07. Kingdom Come Undone
08. Quoth The Raven
09. (Do)Minion
10. Setlon
11. Sempiternal Embers
12. Lugdūnon
13. The Liminal Passage

Track list doesn’t look bad, but they seriously need to change that fucking template they use for their covers. It’s been the same fucking thing now 3 times in a row. Can’t really say I’m excited about it, but it’ll be interesting to hear how they managed to come up with 13 new “folk metal” songs after any songwriting left in the band died halfway through the first album.

And to make this post worthwhile, here’s a picture of Hurdy-Gurdy hottie Anna Murphy:

I’m on it like crack. Despite the gay linkin park drums and that weird dude chiming in from time to time with his “screaming” to metal things up, I’m drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Maybe it’s because of the female vocals, or maybe because I’ve been starved for anything remotely good to listen to lately. In any case, it’s entertaining my saturday. This could’ve been so much better without that fucking drumming.

Anyway, here’s a picture of hurdy gurdy hottie Anna Murphy:

After posting the video for the single “Omnos” Eluveitie have posted the entire album on their MySpace, as well as a song by song interview to read while you listen.

While so far I’m liking it more than I thought I would, I don’t think the label “acoustic” really fits it… at all. The whole thing comes off as a little overproduced with weird electronic effects put on the drums. It doesn’t evoke an acoustic atmosphere, it’s no more acoustic than something like Wild Dances by Ruslana.

Actually that song is more entertaining than this whole album, and she’s hotter to boot, so I’ll leave you with a video of Ruslana.

Or hot chick rather, the one that’s not singing looks like she’s pregnant and not happy about it. The video is for Omnos, a track off their upcoming “acoustic concept” album “Evocation I: The Arcane Dominion”. When I first heard they were releasing an acoustic album I thought they were going for something like Finntroll’s “Visor Om Slutet”, but I guess they simply decided to remove the distorted guitars from the mix and slap the “acoustic” tag on it. I don’t really care honestly.

Thing is Ann Murphy, their hot hurdy gurdy player, is singing on this song and featured prominently in the video. She’s pretty hot. That weird looking dude with the beard hair plugs is in it too. He’s not hot. Below is the video taken from YouTube, sans the retarded comments.
