More Megadeth Video. DVD Sneak Peek
Megadeth has posted a live video of “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due” which is taken from the upcoming DVD “Rust in Peace Live”.
The video looks very nicely shot and the DVD will contain behind the scenes fun stuff to, not just a video of a concert you didn’t go to. Although this clip is suspiciously devoid of Dave Mustaine pissing and moaning about… well everything, I wonder what the DVD has in store.
A peak behind the mixing board with Dave Ellefson
Megadeth bassist Dave Ellefson has picked up the camera on the American Carnage tour to talk with the guys behind the scenes. Check out the sound and light boards in the youtube videos.
So Dave Mustaine isn’t Always a Douche
From the Official Megadeth site
Megadeth would like to send out their sincere condolences to the family and friends of a fallen Droogie, Jeffrey Hendricks. Jeffrey passed away on Friday, March 26 after a battle with cancer. Jeffrey was to attend the Megadeth concert and meet ‘n greet in Memphis, Tennessee on March 23 but went into critical condition the night before and was not able to attend. After hearing the news that Jeffrey wouldn’t be able to attend the show, Dave Mustaine and the band gave Jeffrey a very special phone call. Jeffrey had met the band at a Megadeth concert in Knoxville in November 2009. The family has expressed their gratitude to Dave and the band for meeting and spending time with Jeffrey last November and for calling him Tuesday. They said that getting to meet and talk with the band really brightened the last six months of Jeffrey’s life, and they’ll always be extremely grateful for it.
I love it when bands really go out of their way for fans. And to know that they talked to Jeffrey multiple times show that they didn’t just make a throw-away phone call for good PR. Goodonya Megadeth.
Big Four Tour Rumors
Kerry King made a statement regarding some rumors about getting the “Big Four” of Thrash Metal together on a tour.
I’ve heard people referencing Lars. I don’t know Lars that well and I
haven’t heard it from Lars but apparently he’s talking to somebody
about it. Maybe us, Metallica, Megadeth (and), I think he even threw in
Anthrax and I said in this day and age, I know we had that time
together but how do you leave out Machine Head? There’s better options
than Anthrax and that’s nothing against Anthrax, but they’ve just been
in pieces for quite some time and that doesn’t make as much sense to me.
The idea of this excites me even though between Metallica and Slayer it could possibly be the largest gathering of bros ever witnessed. Someone should call the guys at Guinness.
What I don’t get however is where Kerry King gets off billing Machine Head as a better replacement than Anthrax. Unless they were playing Vio-lence songs or something, it doesn’t make any sense.
If Anthrax wouldn’t work (and in all honesty, it probably wouldn’t) throw Exodus up there, they are still playing strong shows and doing a good job with the old material.
As nice as this sounds though, it will never happen because Dave Mustaine is a bitter old man and a heavy metal diva. He wouldn’t be able to hang through the whole thing without saying some stupid bullshit and pissing everyone off.
With any luck Lars really is trying to get something together and they manage to put together a decent lineup. Although the absence of Metallica would make things a lot easier on my pocketbook.
